The derivative of ln x

Don't forget that the derivative of ln x (the natural logarithm of x) is 1/x.

It is an anomaly, since all other powers of x have a simple formula. But the derivative of x0, which from the formula you might expect to give you x-1, is of course 0. This might help you to remember why it is a function which doesn't fit with the normal rules for powers of x.
