Introduction to differentiation

Explaining differentiation as a way of getting the instantaneous rate of change of a function.

Any situation where a rate of change is involved is likely to need calculus.

For example, if a function x(t) represents the position of something at time t, then dx/dt represents the velocity of the thing at time t, and the second derivative represents the acceleration.

Calculus is also used to find where functions have minimum and maxmum vales.
