Climate mitigation

Many experts believe that even if we are on track to meet climate goals we will need to also take short term steps to reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. However there is a big risk that climate mitigation technologies will be used by the existing fossil fuel industry as an excuse for not changing.

Some planet-scale projects have been proposed, which come under the label of geoengineering.
